my approach to practice

  • Foods serve many different purposes (ie. nourishment, pleasure, convenience, comfort, etc.), but no food is inherently good or bad. All foods have a place in a healthy food relationship, and the healthiest diet is one that supports your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

  • Despite what we’ve been sold, bodies are meant to come in all shapes and sizes. Weight alone does not determine health, and health will be experienced differently by different people. You deserve non-stigmatizing care, no matter your size or health status.

  • Whether trauma is a part of your story or not, I aim to create a safe space for everyone I work with. You are the expert of your own life, and effective therapy requires mutual sharing of strengths, knowledge, and experiences. I am here to empower you in your journey — whatever that looks like.

  • My practice is shaped by several theories and frameworks that embody an anti-oppressive approach. Some of these include Intersectional Feminist Theory, Critical Race Theory, Queer Theory, Narrative Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).
